[USB Flash Security ##/##g]
About USB hard disk support


[USB Flash Security ##/##g] can be installed to a hard disk. But several hard disk can not work normally because of encryptionso. So if you want to use USB Flahs Security ##/##g in hard disk, please try to install [USB Flash Security ##/##g] in the following step.

(1)Comfirm the hard disk work normally or not in [USB Flash Security ##/##g]

Please confirm the model name of USB hard disk in Device Manager is same as the following two cases or not.
Please confirm the security works normally by step (3). That security works normally or not can be confirmed by step (3), so you can skip step (1).

  • Connect USB hard disk after start Windows
  • Connect USB hard disk before start Windows

If the same model name of USB hard disk is displayed in Device Manager by the above two cases, it means encryption of [USB Flash Security ##/##g] works well.
If the diiferent model name of USB hard disk is displayed in Device Manager by the above two cases, it means encryption of [USB Flash Security ##/##g] does not work.

The following screen shortcut is the case that encryption of [USB Flash Security ##/##g] does not work. The name of the case connect USB hard disk before start Windows does not have the part of "USB Device".

[Connect USB hard disk after start Windows]
win->usb

[onnect USB hard disk before start Windows]
usb->win

Please try No.(2) or later by only the USB hard disk that same name is displayed in Device Manager by the above two cases.

(2)Install and NTFS Format

After install it to USB hard disk, please release the security and format Protected Area by Windows Function NTFS Format.
Even if you format Protected Area, Protected Area is encrypted.
(Protected Area is formatted by FAT, when security is installed. So the defect that even if there is free space, but any files can not saved in it occured.)

(3)Operation check

Please confirm that "protected area" can be accessed when input password in "release tool" (UsbEnter.exe) to unlock security by the following 2 cases.

  • Connect USB hard disk after start Windows
  • Connect USB hard disk before start WindowsUSB

(4)Installation Complete

Installation Complete by the above steps.
